Since solar panels work by converting light into electricity, wouldn’t that heat coming from sunlight actually be captured by the solar panels, or will the energy in the form of heat not be consumed solar panels?
The only thing they do is replace other forms of power generation, like fossil fuels. For that, they help stop global warming.
It doesn’t matter if the light is converted to heat or electricity. Eventually, all energy ends up as heat, like your TV or microwave. And all that light is shining down on the surface of the Earth whether or not a solar panel is underneath it.
This is a multi part question if you are talking solar panels that convert sunlight to electricity then NO. If you are talking solar collectors that take the soler radiation and use if for heat energy then sort of. No all the energy that reach a panel is used. There is a certain amount that is reflected away. Soler conversion is a good thing. But, here is the catch. You need to use energy efficient tech starting at a young age and use all things from that tech. What Im saying is this if you are trying to convert your existing home to solar energy conversion you are actually using more energy up then you are saving. How you ask simple. It takes energy the source the materials,build create install and maintain the collectors. It takes energy to make the old power system you are getting rid of and energy to get rid of it. So unless you old system of power what ever it is is hideously inefficient you aren’t saving real energy but setting an example for future generations instead.

Solar panels would definitely help reduce global warming by reducing output of fossil fuel emissions.
Nature does this already . All plants take in CO2 and give us the O2,but the plants keeps the C. The plants capture the energy from the sun and store it as oil in the seeds ,like olive oil . Please do not kill our plants…

No. If there is global warming, it is caused by the sun. The existence of solar panels will not affect anything in the slightest.
Global warming is kind like Santa, the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy. They only exist in the mind of children.
