What Is The Estimate Of How Long Solar Panels Will Last? How Do You Install Solar Panels? What’s An Estimate

Our class is doing a project on getting solar panels put onto our school and we have several questions we would like to be answered. What is the estimate of how long solar panels will last? How do you install solar panels? What’s an estimate on the weight of solar panels? And how much do solar panels cost?
Thanks!

Go to http://www.alternativeenergy.com. They have alot of information that can help you. Its where I went when I bought my solar panels for my hunting camp. But panels do not last forever and there efficency wanes with time.

WOW… I went to the link provided by Jason B. and I found that an average solar panel will cost about $9-12 per watt. That sounds very gentle, but I know enough about electricity to realize that most midsize houses have 100 Amp service.
    100A * 120V = 12,000 watts
    12KW * $9 per watt = $108,000!!!!!!!!
Why not buy a whole new house!http://www.sunwize.com/products/GTSresid…

The solar panels are a bit expensive. They last until somebody who is dumb brakes them.If you install solar panels in 8 years or so you will be having free electricity for life!

This is completely anecdotal, but my grandparents’ house has a solar water heater. It’s been running for over 40 years. In fact, the electric water heater (I guess they put it in for backup? Though I can’t recall it ever being used) stopped working a few years ago, but the solar one is still going strong.

You’re asking questions with many variables. Different panels from the plethora of manufacturers vary in size, weight, and costs so much you need to research this on websites.
