Once power, solar or otherwise, gets onto the nationwide grid, you cannot tell it from any other power. Some gets used near where it is generated, some is transmitted long distances to other states.
I can’t find any large solar power plants in that state, so any power generated would be from home and other small installations.

Doing a DIY project learning about electronics. Is it possible to use a bunch of old calculator solar strips to provide a power extension to something small like a small light or even a PDA?

or other alternative energy sources.

I personally think that wind farms are a huge big blot on the landscape.
It has been proved in Denmark and just recently in my home county of Fife that they are not as economical as they are made out to be.
Fife Council paid 50,000 pounds to put these on the roofs of some schools which resulted in a saving of less that 500 pounds.
Apparently they need at least 9 knots wind speed to make them efficient, something that we very seldom get in the UK.
I would much prefer that future building of houses, schools etc. have solar panels. They might be more expensive at the time, but they are less damaging to the environment and wild life.

A water heater is operated by solar power. If the solar collector has an area of 6.50 m^2, and the intensity delivered by sunlight is 650 W/m^2, how long does it take to increase the temperature of 1.00 m^3 of water from 20.0°C to 65.0°C?

Applied Materials believes this is a viable profitable market. Is this just a bunch of talk to keep investors hopeful or is this a great oppotunity?

im moving into a really small house! its like a cottage! a lil over 5ooo square feet! is it cost efficent to install a solar power system in it?? its one bath one bedroom living room and a small kitchen laundry out back!

I live in New hampshire and thinking about solar and wind power for my house… I know it is costly. I just want to get an idea of what systems other New Englanders have used….
And what they think of their setups.
Also… Who you got to install solar panels?

Yes, you can, but if you live in severe winter locations, I’d bring them in. Cold is hard on the plastics. And as said above, if you aren’t in the garden, why have them? Good time to clean them up and replace the battery….if you can find the replacement parts.
If you want a more permanent outdoor lighting, might be time to go with a wired 12 volt system.
