I need to know for a school project how easy it is to turn off solar power when you no longer need it? thanks

You need a breaker switch.
Follow all manufactureres rules
do not dissconnect with sun shining

I am pretty sure that there is something provided with the solar panel which will allow you to disconnect the panel after a certain switch is flicked, so yeah, pretty easy probably.
Or you could take it off at night when it produces no electricity, but its still not too safe.
