How Is It Possible To Hook Solar Power To Your Meter, With Out Causing A Direct Short?

I want to buy a system and install it but I can not find an answer on how the hook up works.

    The DC voltage generated by the solar array is converted to AC, at the voltage supplied by the electric utility. The inverter senses the phase of the incoming power, and matches this phase before allowing the utility AC and the AC from the solar system to connect.

    The meter measures the amount of electric that you use coming from the electric company The meter will actually spin backwards as you feed any extra electric to the electric company. thus decreasing your usage. Hooking into the grid would require a electrician or electric company personnel

    You don’t connect to the meter, that is only for the electrical companies use. You need to plug it into your main grid.
    Also, ask an electrician.
